JDP Scholars

Each year the Jayda Dionne Scholarship Fund selects and honors an incoming freshman or current college student with a one-year scholarship. We are pleased to recognize our recipients who have demonstrated hard work, willingness to help others and determination against tremendous odds.

Sydney Belcher

2018-2019 Recipient

Ms. Sydney Belcher will be a freshman at Georgia State University in the fall of 2018, majoring in nursing. She’s an exemplary student with a 4.0 high school GPA who has “resolved to live her life well”, overcoming medical challenges. Voted most valuable player of her school’s basketball team, Ms. Belcher has chaired blood drives, served meals to the homeless at her church, participated in Health Occupation Students of America, and has been a member of Project Blossom and the Inspiring Students to Excel in High Education Program. In the face of adversity, Ms. Belcher “chooses to soar, focusing on the things she can do to help others”.
